Are new Volvos really unreliable? : r/Volvo - Reddit
Volvo's are brilliant at reaching multiple hundreds of thousands of miles, they're reasonably reliable but also very durable, repairable and with good parts availability.
Is the XC90 worth buy? : r/Volvo - Reddit
Volvo makes the best seats ever installed in a car. And the crash safety is not exaggerated... I'm pretty sure this generation of XC90 is currently at the top of the list in the insurance industry's primary safety metric, deaths per 10,000,000 vehicle- miles. Volvo's stated design goal with this XC90 was that there be 0 accident deaths in one.
XC90 Reliability - Exactly How Bad is it? : r/Volvo - Reddit
Future depreciation on cpo/warranty xc90s appears to be massive. Out of warranty cars have a ~$15-25k advantage for only being 2-3 years older. Are the 2016-2018 xc90's really that unreliable and expensive to maintain? Are they going to cost $5-8k+ to keep on the road every year outside warranty? That seems absurd, but that's more or less what the depreciation curve suggests. Insight from ...
Volvo T8 (Plug-in Hybrid) reliability : r/Volvo - Reddit
Volvo T8 (Plug-in Hybrid) reliability Does anyone here have a T8 engine with a good enough amount of mileage to vouch for their reliability? I want a Volvo XC60 T8 because their non-plug-in hybrids have pretty rough gas mileage. I've seen an article that said specifically that the XC60 T8 has awful reliability.
Volvo On Call battery replacement : r/Volvo - Reddit
Has anyone had any luck replacing the On Call battery in their current model Volvo? I have a 2018 V90, and am getting the annoying “Volvo On Call Service Required” message on the dashboard. I don’t think it’s a modem issue since my understanding is my model year has a 4G modem. I’d like to replace the battery myself if possible.
Volvo s60 reliability : r/Volvo - Reddit
I’m in the market of buying my first car and I love Volvos. The safety of them is a huge draw for me. I’m looking at the years 2012-2015 and trying to look for one under 90,000 miles. The only the that’s holding me back is the reliability factor and maintenance costs. My family is always good with taking care of our car’s maintenance but I’ve heard these years of s60 have some issues ...
Anyone experienced with OrBit? : r/Volvo - Reddit
Just purchased a licence and VOE adapter to test out some configurations for my car. Wondering if anyone got some experience or recommendations? For those who don't know: OrBit is a 3rd party program for newer volvos, that allows you to configure almost every car settings and behavior. Also has basic service and maintenance functions.
Longevity of Volvos : r/Volvo - Reddit
It depends on your use. Preventive maintenance becomes vital, and all of us Volvo enthusiasts don't get out of our Volvos unless there's a major event (AKA some you know what hit us on the road), in that case, I'm pretty confident a significant majority of us would jump straight into another Volvo. For reference, I own a 2016 S60 T5 premier.
How's the reliability on the current 2.0L turbos? : r/Volvo - Reddit
The chain and everything connected to it are behind a removable cover that's above the transmission. 2010 and earlier ones occasionally had rear accessory drive problems, but that usually shows up before 75k, and in any case, Volvo fixed that problem on later engines.
Looking at the Volvo V40, but what engine should I choose?
The 2.5, since that's definitely a whiteblock engine (volvo modular). You get those in the pre-facelift T5. About the rest, I don't know very much. Pretty sure the 2L i4 is also a volvo engine Reply reply ShiftyBeans • Do you know if Volvo ever built a unicorn trim for the V40? (turbo 5, manual & awd) Reply reply More repliesMore replies ...
